Where Will You Spend Eternity?

Being a good person doesn’t make you a Christian. God’s Word says that "All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one." Romans 3:12

Simply "doing your best" can’t get you into heaven. "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23 Have you ever disobeyed your parents, lied to your teacher, or been mean to your neighbor? Then you have sin in your life. The Bible says "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23

If we all fall short of heaven, and if nothing we do can get us into heaven, then you are probably asking yourself, "How can I spend eternity with God?" You have to get rid of your sin!

Getting Rid of Your Sin

Jesus said that "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father [God] except through me." John 14:6 "For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Jesus Christ." 1Timothy 2:5

"But God demonstrates [shows] his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8 "He [Christ] himself bore our sins in his body on the tree [cross], so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed." I Peter 2:24

"If Christ were dead, then He couldn’t stand in the gap between God and man. But Christ is alive! Christ was raised from the grave, and by the power of God is now able to save all who come unto God by Him." Hebrews 7:25

Christ’s death REMOVES all the sin you have in your life (past, present, and future), so that God sees you as perfect and holy, just as Jesus is perfect and holy. "The blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin." I John 1:7 The Bible also says that “As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions [sins] from us." Psalms 103:12
